After leading 130 volunteers to clean up the Ellerslie town centre (a pre-rugby world cup event under the joint partnership of the charitable trust I direct, the Council, and the local business association), Greenpeace came overnight and plastered the town with their protest posters. Feeling very indignant, I let Greenpeace know that they needed to clean up...and now! They did come....three times in fact. Each time the job was poorly done so I was not about to let them off the hook. You can read the following press articles about the saga here
and read the second half of this article
. This photo is of Sally Eustace, Town Manager of the Ellerslie Business Association and I with the offending posters.
